Kathryn Alicia Tate , mezzo–soprano, has taken on the title role of Carmen with Opera Seabrook in Salem , New Jersey . Just prior to this success, she warmed up to Carmen with the Hudson Opera Theater in the role of Mèrcedes (which can be viewed on YouTube), having previously performed the pant role as Annius in Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito with the same company. Ms. Tate performed the role of the Mother in Gian Carlo Menotti's The Consul with the Bronx Opera. As the Mezzo has becoming a favorite with New Jersey audiences, she performed the role of Mamma Lucia in Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana with the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera, The Mother in Amahl & the Night Visitors with Opera Seabrook, and Dalilah in Samson et Dalilah with the Atlantic Coast Opera Festival. To her credit she has performed in numerous productions with Knoxville Opera and Delaware Valley Opera Companies. Other performance highlights include featuring a one-woman cabaret show for the opening of the Rodin Exhibition for the Knoxville Museum of Art, performing with Indianapolis' renowned American Cabaret Theatre, and appearing as guest soloist with the Orange County Orchestra performing the famous Bellini duet - ‘Miro, o Norma' from the opera Norma . The Orange County reviewer wrote “her rich intonations and sonorous treble were a highlight of the evening”.

Alicia Tate was awarded recipient for the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz , Austria .
