April Drewry, Soprano

downloadable resume and bio

Soprano, April Drewry, made her international concert debut under the direction of Dalton Baldwin, through the International Academy of Music, in Nice, France. The soprano has already enjoyed stunning success with her performing the title roles of Tosca & Aida.  For her performance of Madame Butterfly, she received accolades of praise for both her singing and acting of Cio Cio San – “a passionate interpreter of one of opera’s most taxing roles…the former Springfieldian proceeds to deepen the characterization with a battery of vocal skills, including lyrical moments of introspection, girlish playfulness and, most impressively, firm dramatic attack in key scenes requiring intense emotion. ” (Larry T. Collins, Springfield Newsleader).  Ms. Drewry continues to be received equally as well with every new operatic challenge including Magda Sorel (The Consul); Mimi (La Boheme); Donna Anna (Don Giovanni); The Countess (Le Nozze di Figaro); and Norma.
April Drewry also enjoys performing as a concert soloist throughout the United States & Europe in both recital and in oratorio works such as Handel’s Messiah which she performed recently for Central Presbyterian, on Park Avenue in New York City.
