Clark Sturdevant , Lyric Tenor Clark Sturdevant

 

Clark Sturdevant received his Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance studying with Dr. John Muriello at the University of Iowa in 2002.  There he performed the roles Monostatos in Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte" and Don Curzio in "Le nozze di Figaro" and was a tenor soloist in the University choruses.  After moving to St. Louis , he began studying under the tutelage of John Stewart at Washington University .  In 2003, he began work on his Masters of Music degree at Washington University where he performed roles in many Washington University Opera performances, including Curly in Floyd's "Of Mice and Men", Belaev in Hoiby's "A Month in the Country", Damis in Mechem's "Tartuffe" and Elder Hayes in Floyd's "Susannah."   He also was a soloist in the Washington University choir.  He finished his Masters work in 2005.  While in St. Louis , he also performed extensively in the productions at Union Avenue Opera.  Apart from many chorus appearances, he has performed the roles of The Sailor in "Dido and Aeneas" , Emperor Altoum in Puccini's "Turandot" , and Der Offizier in Strauss' "Ariadne auf Naxos ."
