Courteney Lynn Wilds, Soprano has been described as convincing in both her physical and vocal expression with a true spinto voice of great distinction.  Her variety of styles, from Mozart to Verdi, shows her consistent vocal command, musical integrity and dramatic force.  Ms. Wilds made her debut in the title role of Aida with Amici Opera in Philadelphia after a critically acclaimed performance as Amelia in Un Ballo in Maschera with Regina Opera in Brooklyn.  Her additional roles include Leonora from Il Trovatore, Elvira from Ernani, Leonora from La Forza del Destino and the title roles from Suor Angelica and Manon Lescaut.  Continuing her tenure with Regina Opera, she performed the title role from Tosca in June.  This fall she can be seen with New York City Opera as a member of their Associate Chorus in the critically acclaimed production, Margaret Garner.

Ms. Wilds is at home in New York and New Jersey concert venues including Merkin Hall, where she sang songs based on Shakespearean plays and sonnets, and CAMI Hall where she performed for the American Diabetes Association.  Her versatility extends beyond the operatic stage to classical acting, where she is a member of the Genesis Repertory Ensemble, an off Broadway Shakespearean theater company.

Ms. Wilds’ training has been varied working with some of opera’s leading instructors including the legendary American soprano Martina Arroyo.  Ms. Arroyo described her as “possessing a solid, expressive voice capable of many colors and a talented actress with excellent stage presence and personal charisma”.

In addition to performing, Ms. Wilds has an active voice studio located in Freehold and Woodbridge, New Jersey.  She holds a BA in Biology/Pre-Med from Hampton University and an MBA in Marketing from Rutgers Business School.  Additionally, she is a member of the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA).
