Frances Devine, Mezzo Soprano Frances Devine, Mezzo Soprano

Frances Devine , International Mezzo Soprano, has performed in New York , Toronto , Bulgaria , the Czech Republic , and Paris , France . In October, 2007, she performed the title role in Bizet's Carmen with Capitol Heights Lyric Opera, in Toronto , Canada , and in NYC. She sang Cherubino in October, 2006 with Capitol Opera Harrisburg in Harrisburg , Pa. With the Bourgas Opera, of Bourgas, Bulgaria she performed Olga in Eugene Onegin (Russian) in 2004 and in 2005 she performed Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte.

In concert, Ms Devine has performed Hansel in Hansel und Gretel, Romeo in I Capuletti e I Montecchi , Nicklausse in Les Contes D'Hoffman, Annio in La Clemenza di Tito, and Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus . She performed staged scenes of La Cenerentola as Angelina and Il Barbiere di Siviglia as Rosina with Music in Chelsea series, 2004, 06, 07. In 2007 she sang Lola in a reading of Cavalleria Rusticana and Suzuki in a reading of Madama Butterfly with Opera Pieno .

She performed the stage roles of Laura in The Glass Menagerie and Debra in Sexual Perversity in Chicago . Ms. Devine performed Debra in Sexual Perversity with the Open Globe Theater Company in Paris and Rosalie Mirmon in De Toutes Les Couleurs with PSO Spectacle at Theatre de la Gaite Montparnasse, Paris .

She was a finalist in Classical Productions Competition in 2003 and 2004, and sang Cherubino in highlights from Le Nozze di Figaro in Weill Hall with Classical Productions. In 2004 and 2005 she was awarded grants from the Emerging Musicians fund.

Frances Devine studied voice at Conservatoire Charles Baudelaire. The mezzo soprano studied also at the Theatre Francais a Cours - Nicole Merouze before moving to NYC where she now resides. Ms. Devine also studied voice with Jacqueline Morin in Paris .

Currently, Frances studies voice with Dr Michael Warren in New York City .

Frances Devine speaks fluent French and Italian, while providing her German and Spanish at international levels. The mezzo also performs literature in Czech and Russian in addition to her other languages,

Ms. Devine trained 7 years in ballet, modern and belly dance, with the capability of learning choreography extremely fast.
