Guillermo Baron, Bass

Born in Tunja , Colombia , International artist Guillermo Baron is exploding on the Opera Scene as the newly discovered South American Bass. Mr. Baron will be coming to the US to perform Sarastro in The Magic Flute & Sparafucile in Rigoletto

at the Opera Company of South Jersey with international Artistic Director Robert McFarland. Having performed with the Symphony Orchestra of Colombia, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bogota, the Symphonic Youthful of Colombia and the Conservatory of The National University, Guillermo Baron's repertoire continues to grow with such roles as Commendatore in Don Giovanni , Colas in Bastian and Bastiana , Coline in La Bohème and Zuñiga in Carmen .

Mr. Baron has distinguished himself in recital at such diverse halls as the House Sanz of Santamaria, the auditory of Fabio Lozano, at Olav Roots and Leon of Greiff along with the Virgilo Barco.

The Bass performs sacred music including The Magnificat and cantatas BWV12 and 147 by Johann Sebastian Bach, Mozart's Mass of the Coronation and Requiem , Te deum from the Peace of Colombia composed by Fabio Gonzalez, Lieder by Brahms and Shubert, as well as Latino-American lyrical songs.

During his years of education, Guillermo Baron began with piano studies. Later he received his meritorious degree in Choral Conducting at the National University of Colombia. He has earned his degree in Vocal Pedagogy in Kodaly at the Javeriana University .

Mr. Baron was also chosen as the Choral Conductor for The Young Interprets competition with the Luis Angel Arango Library , Festivals of Opera and Zarzuela, as well as The Fundation Music in The Temples .

Guillermo Baron, International Bass is the principal voice teacher at the Universidad Pedagogica in Tunja, where he - along with Maestro Robert McFarland – works to develop a Master Degree program in Vocal Pedagogy.
