Juliette Vargas, Lyric Soprano

Juliette sang this year, with the opera workshop of the Central University, the Despinas’s role. She was outstanding Winner in the professional category of the X Festival de Opera y Zarzuela 2007 in Colombia, in which she performed along with the National Symphonic Orchestra. Also, she was winner Soloist of the II National workshop of singing directed by César Gutierrez, in which she acted with the Philharmonic orchestra of Bogotá in September of 2007. Soloist in the “Monday of young performers” in the Hall of the Luis Angel Arango Library, one of the most importantconcert halls of Colombia, in august of 2007. Finalist with scholarship in the staging of the Haydn’s opera L’isola disabitata de Haydn, organized by The Teatro Colón of Colombia in collaboration with the Teachers Enza Ferrari, Italo Gómez, Ives Senn y Ximena Bernal, interpreting the Sivia’s role, in the principal cast, in july of the same year.

In addition, she interpreted in May and November of 2007, with the workshop of opera of the Central University, Lucy’s role in the Menotti’s opera The Telephone and Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro in the Halls of Externado University and Leonardus Theather, and the Musetta’s role of Boheme in the Hall Fabio Lozano.

In 2006, she appeared with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bogotá in important shows of opera with arias and ensembles in the roles of Despina, Susanna, and Musetta, as winning soloist of the IX Festival of Opera and Zarzuela, and in the I National Workshop of singing.

In 2005, Juliette was winning soloist with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bogota int the VII version of the Festival of Opera and Zarzuela. She interpreted the same year Piacere’s role in the Handel’s oratory Il trionfo of the veritá and the tempof, organized by Schola Cantotum Basiliensis. Also she was as a scholar in the Workshop of Liric singing or the Teatro Colón, in the staging of Alcina, and Le nozze di Figaro with the Corpas University Orchestra.
