Megan Jesse , Soprano
Meegan Jesse , lyric soprano, has enjoyed a recent success with her performances of Zerlina in Wolfgang A. Mozart's Don Giovanni in 2009, Musetta in Giacomo Puccini's La Bohème , and Bersi in Umberto Giordano's Andrea Chenier ; all three with the Center Stage Opera Company in Camp Hill, PA. Meegan also performed Second Witch in Verdi's Macbeth , and Count Ivrea in Verdi's Un Giorno di Regno ; both roles with the Amici Opera Company of Philadelphia. In the summer of 2007, Ms. Jesse performed the role of the Second Spirit in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte under the baton of Elaine Rinaldi of Orchestra Miami and under the direction of David Grabarkewitz of New York City Opera. This rising sorprano has also performed the roles of Billie Jo Casta in Peter Schikele's Oedipus Tex and Lucy in Menotti's The Telephone with West Chester Opera Theater. In Concert, audiences heard Meegan Jesse in Brahms' Ein Deutches Requiem with the Westminster Choir College Symphonic Choir accompanied by the Dresden Philharmonic, and Berlioz' Damnation de Faust with the aforementioned choir and the New York Philharmonic. In pursuing her passion for performance, Meegan Jesse traveled east to do her studies at the famed Westminster Choir College where she graduated in 2006 with a Master's degree in vocal performance and pedagogy. She fulfilled her undergraduate work in 2003 at West Chester University earning her Bachelor's degree in vocal performance.
