Salvatore Chiarelli, Tenor
Salvatore Chiarelli , Spinto Tenor and a native of New York City , was vocally trained in both Italy and New York City for the opera stage. Having only begun his performing career 4 years ago, Mr. Chiarelli has already been heard on Television & Radio as well as on the Opera & Concert Stages of both North America and Europe . At the very outset of his vocal training, the Tenor won the audition in Manhattan to be soloist for a five-week concert tour of Italy . Upon his return to Manhattan , he made his operatic debut singing the role of Pinkerton in the Madame Butterfly production with Teatro Felice . Since then, Mr. Chiarelli has performed the role of Turridu in Brooklyn Repretory Opera 's production of Cavalleria Rusticana . With overwhelmingly positive reviews, Salvatore gave a repeat performance with The West Side Opera in Manhattan . Because of his success with Turridu , Mr. Chiarelli was offered the role of Canio in the Capital Opera' s production of I Pagliacci treating the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania audience to - as reviewer wrote - “a truly splendid evening of Leoncavallo”. Salvatore Chiarelli has performed as a soloist on satellite television, reaching seventy – five countries around the world. Mr. Chiarelli has recorded his first CD entitled “ Due Terre, Un Cuore ”, which includes fifteen tracks of opera, Neapolitan songs and musical theater. In September of 2008, Mr. Chiarelli can be heard in concert at Hofstra University . Again, in the winter of 2009, he will perform in concert at the Long Island Playhouse. Mr. Chiarelli received his Masters Degree in Music Education at Hunter College where he received his NYS Teachers Certificate. He has been involved teaching music in the New York City Public School System at the Middle School level as well as the High School level. Salvatore Chiarelli currently studies voice with the acclaimed and world renowned teacher William Glazier of Manhattan , NY .OPERATIC ROLES PERFORMED
