Toffer Mihalka, Tenor 
Biography:
Hailing from Southern California, Toffer Mihalka has just completed his first season with Cincinnati Opera Association covering Richard Leech as Don José in Carmen. As soon as he arrived back from Cincinnati's success, he was cast in the role of Don Alvaro for Houston's Opera in the Heights production of La Forza del Destino this fall. Toffer Mihalka began his professional career after earning both bachelors and masters degrees from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. While at Indiana, Mr.Mihalka was fortunate to be cast often in their opera program. Given numerous opportunities to perform roles in fully staged performances as well as many scenes and studio productions, the tenor performed such roles as Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, Romeo in Romeo et Juliette, and Tamino from Die Zauberflöte just to name a few. Since moving to Philadelphia, the tenor has appeared as Normanno in Lucia di Lammermoor and Remendado in Carmen with Boheme Opera of New Jersey. He also performed La Traviata and Ariadne auf Naxos with the Opera company of Philadelphia. In 2004 Toffer Mihalka performed Spoletta in Tosca and the Eunich in Il Corsaro with Maestro Victor DeRenzi and the Sarasota Opera.
